Contest Results

While Rob Powers should have the results of April's contest elsewhere, the results of the 1995 contest season have finally been published. Those of you who are NAR members should have already seen this in the NAR newsletter "The Model Rocketeer" which was sent out the middle of April. Considering that we only held two contests last year, we put in a reasonably solid showing.

We didn't have anyone competing in "A" division (up through 13 years) but in "B" division (14 through 18) Larry Baskett came in 9th out of 16 with 528 points (the national point leader had 3,124 points). In "C" division (19 and older), there were 108 people recording points for the year with the top point getter gathering 2,832. From LUNAR, Jack Hagerty managed 28th place with 760 points, William Walby came in 45th with 380 points, Lynn Kissel snuck in 61st with 268 points and Royce Longacre (who actually flew as an independent) was in a 4-way tie for 98 place with 36 points. Of the 25 NAR Sections that participated in contests last year, LUNAR came in 13th with 1,936 points (the top spot went to NOVAAR with 21,195).

Lost & Found

From the April launch:

  1. A coffee cup, plastic commuter type, with "Nuclear Medicine Week" writing on the side.
  2. An Estes Alpha III that looks like it was run over: only one fin left and the aft end is squished oval. The nose cone, chute, shock cord and most of the paper body is OK.
  3. A Custom Rockets "Razor" which, according to the flight cards, belongs to Mike Hobbs. Dark blue with silver nose cone.
  4. A single Estes "Rotarock" blade.
