Family Unity
Fred Freeman LUNAR #1016
My 5-year-old son Andrew and I first learned about LUNAR through my Uncle, Wesley Freeman, last Spring at a family function. Andrew and I came to watch the launches and were fascinated by the excitement, science, and joy of witnessing a rocket take on a life of its own. After a few months of Saturday morning launches with our new friend "The Maniac", Andrew and I discovered a new passion for learning more about the science of rocketry (with a lot of help from Wes). Our rocket launches have become a favorite topic of discussion at family gatherings; so much that my 93 year old grandmother felt that she just had to make the trek from her home in Santa Cruz to see what her son, grandson, and great grandson were fussing over. She attended the January 2001 launch and was thrilled with what her boys were up to! Imagine, LUNAR's launches bringing together four generations! I know that my grandmother is proud that her children have pursued such an activity that fosters not only an exciting learning environment but promotes family unity as well. The picture says it all.
Thanks.
