I normally don't post these to the "announce" list, but Tony mentioned that
some new members were asking about our totals and other stats. Since this is
the list that everyone subscribes to I figure I'll hit those who asked for
sure. BTW, if you want to reply, do it to the "general" list because unless
you're a club officer it will bounce off of this one.
Sorry I missed the launch, but I had an e-friend visiting from Norway. I've
known this guy for over 20 years now but this is his first visit to the
'states (and he brought his family). Looks like there was a really good
turnout!
Thanks to Tony, we already have the cards counted. The only thing missing
are most of the safety stats. He remembered two motor failures, two recovery
failures and one "land shark" (which I put down as a stability failure).
Other than that the safety looks too perfect.

As a bonus, here's the latest of the club's grand totals since 1993:
Number of Launches
208
Total Flights
39,045
Motors consumed
42,210
Total Impulse
1,719,488
Average Impulse Per motor
40.7
Per flight
44.0
As you can see, we're closing in on 40,000 flights. At the average number of
flights per launch this year, that should happen at either the end of the
October launch or the beginning of November, assuming we don't have any more
cancellations between now and then. Sounds like another excuse for a party!
