All events flown in conjunction with the Sport and High Power launch at Snow Ranch. If the launch happens, the meet happens, so stay tuned to the LUNAR Hotline. If you are a sport/high power flyer, no worry, the normal launch will happen.
Open Spot Landing:
This is a simple but fun event that is all about getting your model to land near a marked spot on the ground. It is the same spot for everybody and to make things fair, you fly this event first. You only get one flight, but you can fly almost any model. The requirements are that it use a contest certified motor (MicroMaxx - G), and that it descends in one piece and that it descends safely. You cannot eject the motor. An Estes Alpha III is a great way to fly this event, or any other simple kit. There are so many options for this event I won't even try to link to some kits.
Set Duration (45 seconds):
This event is a lot like Spot Landing, but is about how long the flight is in the air, not where it lands. The rules are similar, you only get one flight, the flight has to come down in one piece, and it has to be safe (as always), and you can't eject the motor. How long does it have to stay up? As close to 45 seconds as possible. It will be timed and a score is calculated and the closest flight wins. Again, you can use any contest certified motor.
1/4A Flexwing BG Duration:
This event is an old LUNAR favorite. It involves a boost glider made of flexible material, usually plastic or mylar, launched on a 1/4A motor. Despite the small motor size, these can glide for a very long time when done right. There is only one kit available, but there are a lot of tips at the link below, enough to make your own.

1/2A altitude (tracking):
This event is simple, the highest (safe) flight using a 1/2A motor. We will track to ejection, which means that you should use some tracking powder. The event will be flown in a one-hour window, starting around 12 noon, well after when all competitors have arrived.
A Helicopter Duration:
Rockets in this last (and most complicated event for this meet) go up like a rocket and come down liek a helicopter. Like Streamer Duration and Boost Glider you get 2 flights, 1 of which must be returned and the sum of the flight times determines the winner. The standard plan is the rotaroc though the simplest plans are the Tasmanian Devil Kits like the Rose-A-Roc or helos from QCR are a great way to fly this event.
