September 25th, 2010, Moffett Field, NASA Ames
Not a contest per se, but we'd like to dust off the LUNAR theodolites (that is pronounced tracking device) and test them out. What we'll do is set them up with some reasonable baseline at the September Ames launch, and proceed to track some models. We'll communicate with each other to record some of the angles and have a quick and dirty way to calculate the altitude/closure rate. Anyone who wants to can come track some models and learn from 'experts'. The club meeting two days prior will go over the basics of tracking and make sure the trackers are in working order.
Come out, help out, get your models tracked!
As always, this will be conducted alongside the monthly sport launch at Moffett Field. Bring out your normal models (but we might track them anyway)
