Jeff Proschold's Piranha
Jeff brought this great scratch-built rocket to LUNAR's February '96 launch.
Note the
graceful sweep of the fins, the glossy two-tone purple paint job, and
the subtle taper of the boat tail -- built from a conical
cardboard string bobbin!

Unfortunately. the rocket suffered a separation, and while the nosecone
drifted away in the breeze, the (apparently over-stable) body augered
straight in -- a literal core sample. "And that," the LCO rationalized, "is
why the rest of us don't build them so pretty!"
